As Women’s Business Council Philippines prepares for their 25th anniversary in 2022, they were delighted to announce the affirmation of long-standing partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry by signing a Memorandum of Agreement. The MOA affirms DTI and WomenbizPH mutual commitment to promote inclusive growth for the country through economic interventions that are enabling, innovative and job-generating. DTI recognizes the important roles that women-owned and women-led small, medium, large, national, and multinational business enterprises play in nation building. WomenBizPH serves as role models for women in business and corporations, and acts as change agents to forge political and business influence as lead organizer of Philippine women’s business groups.
“DTI recognizes the Women’s Business Council Philippines or WomenBizPH as the leading voice of women in commerce, and for inspiring and empowering women in the Philippines. And as a valued partner of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), WomenBizPh has helped us to promote national growth through economic interventions that are enabling, innovative, job-generating, and inclusive for women,” according to DTI Secretary Ramon Lopez.
“Moving forward, we believe that women entrepreneurs should adopt innovation and competitiveness to thrive and succeed in today’s increasingly challenging and ever shifting economic landscape. Through this agreement, DTI and WomenBizPh can provide an enabling environment that will equip women entrepreneurs with the right mindset and knowledge to become innovative and competitive in the post-pandemic future.” Secretary Lopez added.
The Memorandum of Agreement was signed by Secretary Ramon Lopez and by President Mylene Romualdez Abiva and Chairwoman Monette Iturralde –Hamlin of the Women’s Business Council Philippines. The document was witnessed by USEC Blesila Lantayona, Director Jerry Clavesillas and Director Lydia Guevarra from DTI and by Atty. Benedicta Du Baladad from WomenBizPH. The auspicious event with a Virtual Signing Ceremony coincided with the WomenbizPH General Membership Meeting last May 4, 2021.
The guests of honors were Secretary Ramon Lopez of the Department of Trade and Industry, Secretary Fortunato Dela Pena of the Department of Science and Technology, Chairwoman Sandra Montano of the Philippine Commission of Women and USEC Marjorie Jalosjos of the Department of Interior and Local Government.
