Asia -Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC)

The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) is a regional economic forum established in 1989 to leverage the growing interdependence of the Asia-Pacific. APEC’s 21 members aim to create greater prosperity for the people of the region by promoting balanced, inclusive, sustainable, innovative and secure growth and by accelerating regional economic integration.The word ‘economies’ is used to describe APEC members because the APEC cooperative process is predominantly concerned with trade and economic issues, with members engaging with one another as economic entities. Member economies are : Australia, Brunei , Canada, Chile, People’s Republic of China, Hong Kong-China, Indonesia, Japan, Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Peru, The Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Chinese Taipei, Thailand, The United States and Vietnam.

ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC)

The ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC) was established by the ASEAN Heads of State and Government (HOSGs) at the 7th ASEAN Summit in November 2001 in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam. Launched in April 2003, ASEAN-BAC was set up with the mandate to provide private sector feedback and guidance to boost ASEAN’s efforts towards economic integration. Aside from providing private sector feedback on the implementation of ASEAN economic cooperation, the Council also identifies priority areas for consideration of the ASEAN Leaders. Accordingly, ASEAN-BAC’s activities are primarily focused on reviewing and identifying issues to facilitate and promote economic cooperation and integration. Member economies are : Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

Department of Trade and Industry

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is a government agency that is tasked as the main catalyst that enables innovative, competitive, job generating, and inclusive business, and empowers consumers. The DTI is responsible for realizing the country’s goal of globally competitive and innovative industry and services sector that contribute to inclusive growth and employment generation.

Philippine Commission on Women

The Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) is the primary policy-making and coordinating body on women and gender equality concerns. As the oversight body on women’s concerns, the PCW acts as a catalyst for gender mainstreaming, authority on women’s concerns, and lead advocate of women’s empowerment, gender equity, and gender equality in the country.

ASEAN Access

ASEAN Access, with the tagline Your Business Information Gateway to ASEAN and Beyond, is an online portal serving as a first port of call for ASEAN SMEs and other businesses for information on trade and market access in ASEAN. ASEAN Access provides businesses interested in the ASEAN region with trade and market related information, and access to support services necessary to penetrate new markets.

The portal is overseen by the ASEAN Coordinating Committee on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (ACCMSME) and implemented under the mandate of the ASEAN Strategic Action Plan for SME Development 2016 – 2025, specifically to support MSMEs with ambitions to go international. It receives strategic guidance from the ASEAN Task Force on SME Service Centre Web Portal (ASEAN Access), managed by the Office of SMEs Promotion, Thailand (OSMEP), and is developed with the support of the German Development Cooperation (GIZ).

Women’s Business Council Philippines (WomenbizPH ) has been appointed by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) as Network Partner .

ASEAN Women Entrepreneurs Network

The ASEAN Women Entrepreneurs Network (AWEN) is a network of business women in the region, operating to exchange knowledge, experience; develop and propose initiatives to promote economic and trade activities in order to enhance gender equality, empower and strengthen entrepreneurship skills for women in ASEAN Community; create favorable environment for female-led enterprises and support for women entrepreneurship in the region.
