Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Women and the Economy (APEC WE) 2015 Fora Chair and Department of Trade and Industry Undersecretary Nora K. Terrado summed up the Recommendations of the Heads of Delegations to the APEC Women and the Economy 2015 Fora held at the PICC from September 15-18, 2015 during its culminating session of the High-Level Policy Dialogue (HLPD).
The Statement, which will be submitted to the APEC Ministers’ Meeting In November in Manila, spells out key concerns and proposes specific action in the areas of: Women as Prime Movers of Inclusive Growth; Integration of Gender Perspective across APEC; Innovative Women in the International Market and Global Value Chains; Resilient Women and Sustainable Development; and Integration of Gender Perspectives across APEC. The HLPD of the APEC Women and the Economy Fora’s main agenda seeks to push women’s greater access to capital; skills, capacity building, and health; women’s leadership, voice and agency; competitiveness, technology and innovation.
