Women NOW: A Virtual Visit Exploring Programs supporting Women Entrepreneurs in the Philippines
The GIZ project ‘Economic Empowerment of Women Entrepreneurs and Start-ups by Women’ (WEE) aims at improving the overall framework conditions for women-led businesses and pilots an innovative incubation and acceleration program for micro women entrepreneurs in partnership with local implementing partners Startup Oasis and Dhriiti, from India. Impact Hub Manila enjoins GIZ in its effort to provide a platform that fosters knowledge transfer, ecosystem building, and networking access to bolster support for women-led-enterprises.
Last April 6-8, 2021, a 3-day Virtual Study Tour called “Women NOW: A Virtual Visit Exploring Programs supporting Women Entrepreneurs in the Philippines” was conducted. This initiative aim to provide context on how women entrepreneurship is like in the Philippines; showcase diverse women entrepreneurs in the Philippines, and provide insights to the select participants on how women-led businesses start and grow in the Philippines.
Recognizing the immense work that Women’s Business Council has done in supporting women entrepreneurs, WomenbizPH President Mylene Abiva and WomenbizPH Board Secretary Jeannie Javelosa were invited as speakers and shared their knowledge and experience in working with enterprising women and other initiatives.
