As the global community works toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) -among them SDG2, which aims to end hunger and malnutrition by 2030- women can be the key agents of change in agriculture, nutrition, and rural development.
Women’s Business Council Philippines in partnership with Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) , Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA), Womenpreneurs Indonesia Network (WIN) and Institute Pertanian Bogor organized the Women Strong Network ASEAN Kick Off: Models of Women in Agribusiness to discuss how women can alter food production and consumption so that land and resources are used sustainably.
Keynote Speakers are Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) Chair Sandy Montano, USEC Bles Lantayona (DTI) and Deputy Minister for Gender Equality Lenny Rosalin ( MoWECP) and ASEAN Chair for Committee on Women (ACW) . Closing Remarks by Dr. Glenn Gregorio (SEARCA) . Panelists: Intani Dewi (Institute Pertania Bogor, Indonesia), Ginggay Hontiveros-Malvar (Go Negosyo), Jatu Barmawati ( AyoMart, Indonesia), and Atty.
